I have these little free-association chain reactions sometimes. It would take a flowchart sketched on a whiteboard to clearly illustrate, but it mostly has to do with absent friends and coincident names, plus existential despair which is always there.

The Ilan equation has many variables! Most of them have an input value of "bleh" at the moment, conspicuously where there is a prominent delta between aspirations and their commensurate realism.
I was trying to come up with some witty similarly math-minded analogy for cheering you up but failed miserably, so I'll just resort back to *hug* again :)
