Today was worse.

Today was way the hell worse.

It had its moments, but on the whole, it was very difficult. I don't know where it comes out in the wash, but I really lost my temper, and perhaps my best friend. I definitely lost my most treasured material possession.

Today was an attenuation, a denouement, a cooling.

Yesterday was madness wrapped into a tight coil, then whacked repeatedly with a 2x4 until it shattered.

Today was that shatteredness melting, thawing and being caught in butterfly nets and sealed in mason jars with holes poked in the lid. It's still there, but at least it's assessed and organized.

I don't have everything I lost back -- well, maybe none of it is back. I got a bit of work done, and my head is probably in the space whence I can help some friends celebrate their birthdays. I guess Ong Bak really was cathartic. It was a fun movie; a cross between Segal's brutality, Romero's gore, and Keaton's kinetic sensibilities. Also there were live Muay Thai kickboxing students giving a demo before the show. In the house was no less illustrious a gathering than [livejournal.com profile] otheronetruegod, [livejournal.com profile] tendrilsofsmoke, [livejournal.com profile] mightygodking, and [livejournal.com profile] shara.

And today... just to weirden up the surreality, I helped judge the Fulford debates at my old high school.
